Games and DRM
The amount of DRM that is creeping into games these days is starting to really annoy me. I didn’t mind having to put the disc in my drive. It takes very little effort on my part, and keeps me from casually lending it to someone to install during the initial buying and playing frenzy. Sometimes there’s even a patch down the line that removes that restriction when the game ages. (Thank you to the developers that do that)
I can’t for the life of me fathom what all of these limited installations etc are supposed to do except bother the people who actually paid for the game. Anyone who is going to pirate a PC game, is going to crack the copy protection too.
I had written more on this topic, but it was all long and useless so I thought I’d cut it down to be short and sweet. I guess it’s like MMO Economies. There’s a lot to talk about but no real way of fixing it.
Sorry, no bulleted lists today.
